Australian box builder lands in the USA!!!

Growing up in the good old western suburbs of Sydney Australia, Mum and Dad both had something very similar in common, fast cars and audio! by the time I could walk my old man was already on a course that would lead him to establish one of the largest, live sound, and lighting production company's in the southern hemisphere. A self taught wood worker Dad hand built every speaker box, road case and piece of furniture in a 500ft radius. By the time I could drive I had seen the production of many thousands of speaker boxes, Live audio production, Home Theater, Studio monitors and yes you guessed it Car Audio!

Fast forward over two decades My amazing wife and I end up in sleepy old West Monroe LA, we will save this part for another blog post!!!

With a decent size shop at the house and my dream ride already in the driveway, the W204 Mercedes C63 AMG, it was time for some mods and I already had a vision in my head of what I wanted, slammed German luxury muscle car on JDM wheels, and just like that it went on airlift 3p and TE37's. It either snapped necks or was hated on for real 'why would you do that to a Mercedes?' I ordered personalized tags for it [YSOSIRS]

Not long after I decided to rescue a W218 CLS550 aka [YSOBAD] that was destine for the scrap yard, After we replaced the factory air ride and put it through some serious TLC it was time for a small audio upgrade, I jumped online and bought the first shallow mount 8's I could find, the SKAR VD8's!!! (Que laughing sounds effect) and just like that we had completed our first build/install in over a decade. I had honestly forgot how much I loved to build, it was time to bring myself up to speed with today's car audio. SO down the car audio rabbit hole I went, sinking many thousands of hours studying, reading and connecting with like minded people, I quickly learnt that we now, had some fantastic tools at our finger tips that could be used as great guides for building, its fair to say that 50% of car audio is formula the other 50% is real world testing.

During this journey it became apparent that there was a huge market of people who were overwhelmed by the whole process or did not have the resources to accurately produce their own builds, the car audio market is absolutely booming with plenty for everyone to eat, so much so that we witnessed multiple builders going MIA with peoples hard earned money!!!

I can design and build quality cabinets, and my background in the service and retail industry was about as seasoned as it can get so why am I not eating to?.

BADLAB Customz was then born end of 2023, it was time to prep the shop!
